We did get offered accom after the show (said in classic “stoner” voice) “Well…we don’t have electricity…we just like to light some candles and get stoned all night”. We politely declined, opting to sleep in the car instead.

I love sleeping in the car…I do it all the time, but with three other dudes, a full backline and sitting up, it sucks.

Of note from this gig, we met/played with the guys from Your Black Star….it bugged me for ages why I knew the name…then realised it was the band from this infamous episode in Hamilton rock history (This Night Creeps/Your Black Star tour which ended in much shit talking on the internet), well documented on the hamilton music forum- I was gonna link to it, but I am quite a potty mouth on the forum, and, haha, after meeting the guys feel quite lame… and don’t want my parents to see what a knob I can be on forums. Those who are savvy enough will find the forum if they really want.

They still obviously feel quite stink about how NZer’s turned on ‘em, they explained their side of the story, and even though it seems fair enough, ya know… who really cares, it was years ago and wasn’t even that interesting at the time. One little coincidental bit was that Luc from This Night Creeps who had the biggest beef with Your Black Star was also the VERY first person to buy an OTA CD, which he did from their first show in Hamilton in ‘06. Haha, small world, strange co-incidence.

They were really nice guys and invited us to play a house party with them in Virginia (maybe trying to repair some south pacific relations..)
