Camp A LOW HUM 2008

Tickets are selling well, and all indications show that it will indeed sell out. Maybe this year… maybe a week before the event, but it will sell out, so don’t piss around! Tickets on sale now from www.alowhum.com and Real Groovy (Auckland and Wellington only). Trust me when I say that to save yourself from the year of taunts from people who went, just bite the bullet and get your ticket. There is a reason why people are coming from all over the World to party in Ohau.

!!
Camp A Low Hum 2008 makes the Lonely Planet list of recommended 2008 Australasian festivals! The only other NZ festivals to make the cut were Big Day Out, Rippon and Rhythm and Vines…but in even bigger news…MTV Europe list Camp A Low Hum as the only festival in NZ worth going to in February! Only 8 other festivals in the World get their recommendation for February 2008, from Thailand, to Canada, to Brazil to Tanzania…and Camp A Low Hum is number 1! Oh yeah…

The DVD of Camp A Low Hum 2007 is now finished! Copies have been sent out to all those who have ordered so far. If you went to camp in ‘07 or have tickets for next year, you can grab a copy for just $7 including postage and packaging. Order them from www.alowhum.com . Over the three days of camp, many campers had a go at designing cover artwork for the DVDs, these are scanned and online now! Goto: http://flickr.com/photos/21086078@N02/ to check out what some of the warped minds at camp came up with.

South Island travel Vouchers are all but sold out. The initial run sold out a month ago, but I made one more allotment available. When these sell out, that’s it! They will be gone by the new year fo’ sho, but maybe even earlier…so If you are coming from the South, don’t miss this sweet deal to get to camp and back for just $100! The band line-up for ‘08 is insane!! I still can’t believe I managed to get all these people in one place at the one time!

DISASTERADIO

What a summer!

First up, Disasteradio plays the last hour of Radioactives 30th anniversary party this weekend. Head along to the Newtown Workingmens Bowling Club for a kick ass party, or tune in to Radioactive to hear the whole thing broadcast live-to-air. Disasteradio on at 11pm, on Saturday, Dec 8th!

The big news though…guess who tops the end of year list in Real Groove for NZ Album of the year?!?! (”Visions Comfortably the best in a great year for the local underground”). Fucken stoked! Getting mad props from the best mag in the country (now that a certain little rag is defunct) is certainly an awesome feeling to say the least! The Mint Chicks awesome “Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!” was their 2006 Album of the Year, so I guess this means that Disasteradio is gonna clean up at the Tui’s next year? Sweeeet.

Speaking of The Mint Chicks, Disasteradio has the honour of supporting them on their last tour of New Zealand before they relocate to Portland, Oregan. Don’t me an idiot and miss this tour, especially cause the ticket is a nice 7″ white vinyl Mint Chicks single.
Dec 16th - Wellington, Dec 18th - Nelson, Dec 19th - Blenheim, Dec 20th - Christchurch, Dec 21 - Auckland

And continuing the best summer ever, the boys from Supergroove loved Disasteradio’s set at the reunion show so much, they asked him to accompany then on their summer tour! Man, I saw Supergroove at their reunion show, and they are as good as ever!
Dec 28th - Riwaka, Dec 31st - New Plymouth, Jan 2nd - Mt Maunganui, Jan 3rd - Mangawhai, Jan 4th - Coroglen, Jan 5th - Waihi

Disasteradio is also heading over to Australia from Feb 14th-24th as well… playing a bunch of shows in Melbourne, wohoo! Keep an eye on his myspace for details. - www.myspace.com/disasteradio

PS. Vice Magazine just said that Disasteradio’s “Visions” was the best album to ever come out of Wellington.

THE ENRIGHT HOUSE

Actually taking a break over Summer as Mark spends some time in the US. Look out for the new video for “Scattering the Sun like Gunshot” shot by eep! Productions to be on TV/Youtube soon.
